PCUK Winter 2023 Appeal

The Story: This was our first time working with Pancreatic Cancer UK, they are  a charity that work with clinicians, researchers and those affected by Pancreatic Cancer to find ways to speed up diagnosis, develop faster and better treatments. Whilst calling for more investment in research.

Their brief asked us to create a winter appeal to encourage supporters to donate towards their research into better treatments.

Their brief asked us to create a winter appeal to encourage supporters to donate towards their research into better treatments.

The Brief: Their brief asked us to create a winter appeal for their existing supporters asking for donations towards their research into better treatment. PCUK have made more progress in the past 5 years than in the past 5 decades.

With the cost of research and equipment, it’s a difficult environment for researcher's right now, the cost impact also means they must increase the amount spent on funding to ensure they keep up with the momentum.

They were keen to include a test within this pack, an uplift leaflet where one focuses on the research and the other focuses on the case study. This is to see the rate of conversion for both.

Our Response: We created a compelling DM pack which included a manila outer (this creates a prestige feel to the pack) and A4 booklet, A4 letter and donation form. Those supporters who are HV received a personalised comp slip.

 How it works: Pancreatic Cancer need funding to continue to carry vital research for people to have access to high-quality treatment and care that they need. By asking supporters to help fund the next 7 months of vital research through hard hitting emotive creative, means they feel they can do their bit to help drive this goal and people get the treatment and care they need.

 

Results: The appeal aimed to raise £60,000 to help fund seven months of ground-breaking research into kinder, more effective treatment for pancreatic cancer. 

At this moment in time, the appeal had raised £67k which is £7k above target! The email journey brought in £9k alone with an average donation of  £43.81. the DM brought In over £27k with a ROI of 3.3% and average donation of £71.43. The remainder DM raised £7.7k with an ROI of 1.36% and average donation of £56.11.
